Welcome to "My Life in 5"!
This newsletter is an extension of my Daily Sketch Journal. It will offer a deeper way to document my life and keep a record of my experiences and thoughts while providing a more organized, consistent way to share updates with anyone who may be interested in having a peek in to someone else’s life!
Each week (time permitting!), I’ll be sharing five things—part diary, part blog, including sketches, photos and whatever else I may wish to add. It’s my way of capturing my life -from the banal to the exciting (probably more banal to be honest!) and I hope you’ll enjoy following along too.
1. On Monday, Mum came over. It was such a treat to have some rare one-on-one time with her. With a big family, our gatherings are usually filled with lots of people and chaos which is always fun but the quiet day we had together was really special.
2. I think I’ve found a billy goat for our youngest nannies (they are like rocking horse poo to buy at the moment!!)– Maggie and Stan (my kids) have already named him Winston! He’s only 8 months old and unproven, so we’ll have to see how things go - there will be no pressure on him this year as we still have our proven Billy - Jellybean! Hopefully, we’ll be picking him up in a couple of weeks.
3. I finally returned to the Ceramic’s studio on Wednesday after more than six weeks away, and it was pure joy. I glazed a batch of bisque-fired pots and started working on two hand-built mugs that I’m planning to finish on the wheel next week. The photo shows a few hand-built spheres I worked on before the Summer Holidays. They've been bisque-fired so I spent some time decorating them and they are now back on the ‘shelf’ ready to be Glaze Fired. These will be used as decorations for our pond, with the one that has a hole planned as a water feature - If I’ve made the hole big enough!
I bought a Panini Maker! So far, I’ve made Tuna Melts (a big hit when Mum was here), Ham and Cheese, and even a Roast Beef with Cheese using leftovers. You know how sometimes you worry that a new purchase might just end up gathering dust? I’m confident this one will see a lot of use - Does anyone have any other yummy recipe ideas for it?
Habit Tracker: I’ve reached the end of week three with my habit tracker, where I’ve included a variety of things I want to monitor. It’s working brilliantly, and it’s so refreshing to keep it all ‘nondigital’ - in a little dedicated book - who needs an app?

I have a recipe for your panini press. I had these many times for lunch when I worked in sales during my time in Nottingham. They are lush... don't tell too many people 😆
Cooked chicken, tomato slices, mayonnaise, small teaspoon of dijon and a splash of lemon juice..pepper to taste.
Press till hot
I promise you they will be a hit!
Another inspiring idea! A good sketch speaks a thousand words!!
